Source: United Nations list of international days and weeks, fetched 2026-10-10. Dates are those printed for 2026.

How to use the Awareness Days Calendar with .ics and CSV Export

  1. Narrow the list. Pick a month, a theme such as environment or health, or type part of a name. The count above the list updates as you go.
  2. Look at the next 30 days. Switch on the next 30 days option to see only what starts or is still running in the coming month, so you know what needs a post this week.
  3. Tick the days you will cover. Tick single days or press Select shown to take everything the current filter lists. Skip anything that does not fit your account.
  4. Download the plan. Download an .ics file to open in any calendar app, or a CSV with a blank post idea column to drop into a content plan.
  5. Plan a post. Use the Plan a post link on a row to open the scheduler and write the post for that day.

What the calendar contains and how the export works

What it lists

The dataset is the UN list of international days and weeks: the day or week name, its date, the issuing agency where the page shows one, and the resolution or decision number printed under it. A week keeps the start and end dates the UN gives. We add no commentary to any entry.

The next 30 days view includes an observance if it starts in the window or is still running on the first day of it, so a week that began last Monday still shows. It uses the date on your device.

How the export is built

The .ics writer follows RFC 5545: lines end in CRLF, dates are written as DTSTART;VALUE=DATE, the end date is the day after the last day (the format counts it as exclusive), each event has a stable UID built from the observance and the year, and commas, semicolons, backslashes and line breaks in text are escaped. Lines over 75 bytes are folded.

Importing the same file twice should update, not duplicate, in most calendar apps because the UIDs stay the same. Nothing is sent to a server: the file is built in your browser.

Limitations

This is the UN list only. National days, brand days and many awareness days run by other bodies are not here. Always check the UN page before you publish if the exact date matters, because the organisation can change a listing.

Frequently asked questions

Where does this list come from?

Every entry is taken from the United Nations page that lists international days and weeks, at un.org/en/observances/list-days-weeks. We fetched it on 10 October 2026 and added nothing from other sources. The date we fetched it is printed under the list.

Why does the list only cover 2026?

The UN page prints one year of dates. Most observances sit on the same calendar date every year, but a few follow a weekday or a lunar date and move. Because the page does not mark which is which, we show the 2026 dates as printed and do not guess for other years.

What is in the .ics file?

One all-day event per day you ticked, with the observance name, a note pointing to the UN list and the UN reference when there is one. Weeks become multi-day events. It follows the iCalendar format (RFC 5545), so Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook can import it.

How are the themes chosen?

The themes are our own tags for filtering, not part of the UN list. A day can carry more than one, and some have none, in which case they only appear when no theme is selected.

Should I post on every awareness day?

No. Cover the few days that connect to what you actually do, and say something specific. A post that only names the day adds little. Choose the days, tick them, and leave the rest.

Does the CSV open in a spreadsheet?

Yes. It has the date, the end date for weeks, the name, themes, the UN reference and an empty post idea column. Any cell that starts with a character a spreadsheet could read as a formula is prefixed with an apostrophe so it stays plain text.
